Dr. Peter Martinez, ISUAAA cofounder and Chair of South African Council for Space Affairs (SACSA)

ISUAAA cofounder and current Point-of-Contact, Southern Africa, Dr. Peter Martinez was appointed the Chair of the South African Council for Space Affairs (http://www.sacsa.gov.za/), and he is the Chair, Local Organizing Committee of the International Astronautical Federation Congress, IAC 2011 holding in Cape Town, South Africa from October 3 – 7, 2011 (http://1ac2011.com). Peter is a pioneer and leading light on Space Policy formulation and development in Africa. ISUAAA wishes him successful hosting of the IAC 2011 and terrific achievements serving as the Chair, SACSA.

SSP 2011 under way in Graz, Austria!

The 2011 Summer Space Program is under way in Graz, Austria and will run from 11 July until 9 September 2011. SSP2011 has 121 participants from 31 countries, with ages ranging from 20 to 67!

The SSP is a 9 week interdisciplinary, intercultural, international and interstellar tour de force, where the lucky summer students have a chance to interact with like-minded space enthusiasts, established space professionals and an excellent teaching staff. ISUAAA’s very own Ayodele Faiyetole is a Teaching Associate in Space Application Department and we look forward to hearing exciting stories from him!
